after a long hiatus the spectacular and exotic morocco has joined the long list of countries opening their doors to travellers. it is an exciting time for new and returning travellers, but can also be a confusing one, as every country is different with their rules and safety implementations. in preparation for our 10 day moroccan expedition with bri lee in april, we’ve created a safety guide for morocco in 2022.
do i need to be vaccinated?
on monday 7th february, morocco lifted its travel ban for tourists. it’s important to know that the CDC currently has morocco on a high level covid rating, so masks are currently mandatory in indoor, public spaces. before boarding, you’ll have to fill out a simple health and safety form. like many other countries, you will also be required to show your vaccination passport upon entry and pass a negative pcr test, which must be taken less than 48 hours before boarding the plane. upon arrival, travellers may also be required to give an additional test within 48 hours at their place of stay.
do i need a visa to travel to morocco?
fortunately, Morocco allows tourists from a long list of countries to enter without a visa for a period of up to 90 days. this includes the usa, europe, australia and britain, although you will need to provide a local passport for you country. for a full list of countries exempted from a visa, you can visit the moroccan foreign affairs website.

in preparation for our jordan expedition with naila in May, we’ve written a safety guide to keep you up to date on the latest health and safety requirements for this ancient and diverse country. although the country has stayed open to travellers for the last few years, its rules have changed over time.
do i need to be vaccinated?
as of 2022, you are not required to present proof of vaccination to enter the country of Jordan, although its important to know that the CDC has ranked Jordan with a ‘very high’ covid rating. you must, however, present a negative PCR test within 72 hours of departure. in addition, you will also be required to fill out a short health and safety form before boarding. jordan also requires a proof of health insurance for travellers outside of the country.
