wellness in Cambodia, at an island resort branded on bliss

Song Saa is found in Cambodia’s Koh Rong archipelago, a virtually undiscovered batch of two islands that translate in Khmer to “the sweethearts”. They are private islands run exclusively for the benefit of their guests. Now, Cambodia is not usually known for its islands, which makes the experience all the better. Accordingly, they have been compared to the islands of a pre-tourism Thailand.

The two islands of Koh Bong and Koh Ouen are joined by footbridges over waters that shelter dugongs, pristine coral, seahorses and multi-coloured fish.

With just 27 villas, guests are guaranteed an intimate stay. The accommodation and the resort are sustainable and are modeled on a rustic chic ideal which translates to thatch roofs, driftwood and rough exposed timbers.

But then guests will step outside to find the smooth edges of a private pool or ocean view. In each villa there’s the option of showering with a sea view, viewing the sunset from a back deck and eating seafood under the stars. For those with a budget to splurge, they can arrive by speedboat at their own two bedroom royal villa.
